Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Phil Lynott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Crain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynott comes to the ring accompanied by Out in the Fields. Crain has chosen The Roots - Kool On as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Lynott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyler Crain!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynott has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Crain.
Lynott slips under a jab from Crain.
The fight stays on the outside here - Crain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lynott looks to land a left hand but Crain moved out of range nicely.
Crain thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lynott if he has to take too many more of those.

Crain darts in and clinches Lynott up against the ropes.
Lynott is trying to push Crain away but Crain has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Lynott blocks a body shot from Crain.

Lynott breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice uppercut there from Lynott.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Crain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lynott's sensitive parts.
Lynott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Crain lands a head kick!
Lynott thumps Crain with a low kick.
Crain slips under a jab from Lynott.
Lynott misses with an uppercut.
Crain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lynott manages to avoid it.

Crain misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crain scores with a jab to the body.
Crain lands a body shot.
Crain scores with a leg kick.
Crain lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Crain misses with a looping left.

Crain clinches up against the ropes.
Crain trying to land knees to the body.
Crain scores with a shot to the side of Lynott's head.
Crain tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Crain throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lynott using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Crain has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Crain lands an elbow that stopped Lynott in his tracks for a moment.
Crain lands a nice shot to the body.
Crain tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lynott avoids it.
A left hand lands to the body for Crain.

Lynott breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lynott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Crain to score with a decent uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Crain. Those never looked like landing.
Crain takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Crain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lynott takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Crain steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lynott.
Crain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lynott misses the body punch
and Crain counters with a leg kick.
Crain feints a jab promting Lynott to slip. Crain then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lynott slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lynott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A decent looking cross lands there for Crain.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
That kick from Lynott tenderised Crain's leg. Crain is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lynott tries to clinch but Crain is having none of it.
Lynott thuds a left hand into Crain's body.
Crain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lynott throws out the jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Crain dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lynott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Crain sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lynott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crain circles away quickly and effectively.
Tyler Crain seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Crain moves out of range of the strikes.
Phil Lynott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crain fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Lynott ducks right into an uppercut from Crain.
Lynott on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lynott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crain scoring well with a low kick there.
Crain cracks a nice hook into Lynott's ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lynott throws a combination. Crain tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Tyler Crain has been cut.

Crain drives through and clinches with Lynott against the ropes.
Lynott wants to get back to striking at distance but Crain won't allow it.
Crain dodges an elbow strike from Lynott.
Crain lands an elbow that stopped Lynott in his tracks for a moment.
Lynott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lynott takes a shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crain with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Phil Lynott has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Crain lands with a left to the head.
Crain lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lynott backwards.
A nice right hand lands inside from Crain.
Crain lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Crain misses with a knee to the head.
Crain trying to stall but Lynott improves his position.
Crain softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Crain.
A short right from Crain on the inside.
Lynott misses with an elbow over the top.
Lynott wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Crain has him pressed against the ropes.
Lynott can't break the clinch.
Crain blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Still in the clinch, Crain scores with a nice short uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lynott is trying to push Crain away but Crain has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Lynott is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Crain works on Lynott's body with a couple of short punches.

Crain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lynott throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lynott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Crain sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Crain throws out a head kick that Lynott doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Lynott crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Lynott's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Lynott looks to land a left hand but Crain moved out of range nicely.
Crain blocks a jab.
A bone on bone clash there as Crain blocks the leg kick.
Lynott blocks a head kick by Crain.
Nice body punch from Crain.
Crain thumps Lynott with a low kick.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Crain. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Crain with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lynott loads up on a big right hand but Crain slips the punch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lynott has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Crain.
Lynott takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Crain wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Crain cracks Lynott with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Crain takes that one, thanks to the knockdown.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Lynott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Crain's corner calls for a 1-2. Crain obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Lynott lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Crain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lynott. Lynott circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


Lynott is rocked!
Crain throws a nice outside leg kick.
Lynott is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Lynott rushes Crain and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lynott blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lynott is trying to break the clinch but Crain has him pressed against the ropes.
Lynott looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Crain lands an elbow that stopped Lynott in his tracks for a moment.
Tyler Crain seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Crain connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lynott's face.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Lynott with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lynott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lynott wants to get back to striking at distance but Crain won't allow it.
Crain fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lynott has had enough of the clinch but Crain keeps him there for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Crain tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Crain lands an elbow just above Lynott 's eye.
Lynott tries to break free but Crain pushes him back against the ropes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crain lands a right hand.
A short right from Crain.
Crain has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Crain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Crain fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lynott has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Crain, right into the meat.
Crain lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Crain scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Lynott to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
Oh Lynott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boom! Crain lands a massive head kick that sends Lynott crashing into the ropes, followed by a classic face plant on the canvas! He's up to his knees but he's not going to beat the count - this one is all over! Crain is jumping around like a lunatic, extatic with the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Tyler Crain!
Tyler Crain seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
