Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rupert Psmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Biggie Shackleton!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Psmith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Psmith, right into the meat.
Psmith changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Shackleton throws a leg kick
and Psmith counters with a stiff right hand.
Psmith throws a body punch but Shackleton moves out of range.
Shackleton misses with the combination.

Shackleton gets a double leg takedown into Psmith's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Shackleton works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Shackleton is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shackleton throwing strikes from guard but Psmith blocks nicely.
Psmith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shackleton blocking the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Psmith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shackleton looks a forlorn figure.
Shackleton holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Psmith tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Shackleton is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shackleton tries to lock up and control but Psmith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Psmith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Shackleton wants to hold on but Psmith pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Psmith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shackleton is looking to escape.
Shackleton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Psmith landing strikes, looking to finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shackleton can't escape the position.
Psmith breaks from Shackleton's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Shackleton working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shackleton wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Psmith.
BOOM! Psmith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Shackleton tries to lock up and control but Psmith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Shackleton is wriggling around trying to escape.
Shackleton wants to control but Psmith is having none of it.
Shackleton avoids a series of strikes thrown by Psmith.
Psmith scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Shackleton is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shackleton is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shackleton is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Psmith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Shackleton is trying desperately to improve position.
Psmith working the ground and pound effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Psmith lands a couple of good shots and Shackleton has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rupert Psmith dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Psmith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've been told by Psmith's head coaches at Hey Steve's Fight Shack that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shackleton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Psmith but Psmith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Psmith throws a jab but it's blocked by Shackleton.
Shackleton goes for a double leg but Psmith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Psmith continues to drive forward.
Psmith lands a shoulder strike.
Psmith lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.


Shackleton is rocked!
Psmith working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Shackleton is still on wobbly legs! Can Psmith finish him?
Shackleton wants to get back to striking at distance but Psmith won't allow it.
Psmith lands a big right hand that drops Shackleton! The killer instinct kicks in and Psmith finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Psmith!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rupert Psmith!
An out of breath Rupert Psmith thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
