The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asikainen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hegel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Asikainen throws the left hand but Hegel avoids the punch easily.
Asikainen misses with a head kick.
A head kick from Asikainen lands but Hegel takes it in his stride.

It looks like Martin Hegel has been cut.
Asikainen just misses with a punch to the body.
Asikainen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hegel is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Asikainen moves to clinch but Hegel breaks away
and Hegel makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Asikainen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Tommy Asikainen has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Asikainen is looking to chop away at Hegel's legs.
Asikainen closes the distance but Hegel moves to the side
and Hegel counters with a left and a right that stings Asikainen.
Hegel circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hegel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Asikainen wants to clinch
and Hegel counters with a right, followed by a huge uppercut that sends Asikainen crashing to the mat! Asikainen is trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet but he's all over the place - the referee has seen enough and has stopped the fight! Hegel screams with a mixture of joy and relief, whilst celebrating with his cornermen.
