Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ai Za (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lonely - The Swedish Magazines. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ai Za!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alexio Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Za with a lazy takedown attempt

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Za's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Silva tries to advance to mount but can't.
Silva is trying to ground and pound but Za uses the momentary lack of control by Silva to regain half guard.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Za does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ai Za will probably get the nod.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ai Za will probably get the nod.

Za got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Za has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ai Za.
