Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Cantor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Cantor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Cantor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall dodges the punch combination from Cantor.

Marshall gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cantor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marshall tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Cantor is trying to get back to full guard.
Cantor is positioning himself well to prevent Marshall advancing to mount.

Cantor makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Marshall takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Marshall looks to land a combination but Cantor avoids it well.
Cantor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cantor shoots in and gets a takedown into Marshall's guard.
Cantor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marshall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marshall has an active guard here but Cantor has managed to pass into half guard.

Cantor is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Marshall still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Marshall has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Marshall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Marshall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cantor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Marshall goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cantor has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Marshall but great work by Cantor.
Cantor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marshall keeps working.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marshall takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Cantor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Marshall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cantor stalks Marshall and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Marshall's face. Marshall staggers backwards, shaken.

Cantor throws a jab but it's blocked by Marshall.

Cantor lands a nice hook to Marshall's body. Marshall takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cantor bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Cantor fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Cantor feints and as Marshall raises his hands in defense, Cantor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marshall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cantor controls the pace.
Cantor stands and throws Marshall's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Cantor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marshall looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown but Cantor shows good takedown defense.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cantor as he avoids it easily.
Marshall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Cantor lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Cantor jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Marshall has managed to clinch.
Cantor wants to take the fight to the mat but Marshall manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Marshall wants to control but Cantor passes easily into half guard.
Cantor is pressing down on Marshall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Marshall is holding on for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cantor, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
