Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geoffery Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Care Bear Countdown. Reynolds has chosen Mortal Kombat as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Geoffery Reynolds enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Geoffery Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Elkins counters with a straight right hand.
A low kick from Elkins is predictable there

and Reynolds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Reynolds wants to pass the guard but Elkins is keeping the position.
Reynolds trying to control but Elkins is working from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Elkins pulls Reynolds in close to his closed guard and prevents Reynolds from doing any damage or advancing position.
Elkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reynolds's guard.

Reynolds had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Elkins defends it easily.

Reynolds is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Elkins defends well.
Elkins with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Elkins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Elkins is pushing down on Reynolds's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reynolds is fighting to maintain full guard but Elkins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reynolds is trying to maintain the position but Elkins is very close to passing his half guard.

Reynolds moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Reynolds has his foot on Elkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Elkins cracks Reynolds with a solid left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reynolds has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Elkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reynolds tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Reynolds is trying to control the position but Elkins postures up.
Reynolds wants to sweep here but Elkins controlling him for the moment.

Elkins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Reynolds trying to keep a closed guard but Elkins is proving a slippery customer.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Geoffery Reynolds wasn't active enough on the ground.
Elkins lands the left hand.
A slow jab from Reynolds misses its intended target.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Elkins takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Reynolds stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Elkins.

Reynolds shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reynolds is working away from the top position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elkins is trying to get back to full guard.

Reynolds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elkins is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Geoffery Reynolds dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Elkins stuffs the takedown attempt from Reynolds. Reynolds gets slowly back to his feet.
Reynolds moves out of range of the body kick.
Elkins throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Reynolds shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Elkins but Elkins pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reynolds ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Elkins moves away.
Reynolds's corner calls for a 1-2. Reynolds obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reynolds tries to close the distance and clinch but Elkins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reynolds keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Reynolds gets caught napping as Elkins dives in and scores a takedown. Reynolds manages to retain guard.

Elkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reynolds has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elkins has managed to get both his arms back between Reynolds's legs - danger averted.

Elkins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Reynolds is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Reynolds has his hands on Elkins's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elkins wants to control from the top but Reynolds keeps moving.
Elkins distracts Reynolds with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Elkins postures up.
Elkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Reynolds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Elkins wants to pass the guard but Reynolds is keeping the position.

Elkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Elkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Reynolds is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Elkins throws a head kick but Reynolds moves out of range.

Elkins shoots in and bounces Reynolds off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.


Reynolds is rocked!
Geoffery Reynolds has got the better of the ground game so far.
Elkins makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Reynolds is still in real trouble! Can Elkins finish him?
Elkins with a nice head shot there.

Reynolds working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Elkins has passed into half guard!
Elkins scores with a big shot! Reynolds's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Reynolds! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dwight Elkins!
