Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikio Okita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby TupperII!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TupperII is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
TupperII doesn't manage to clinch there - Okita circles away.
Okita throws an uppercut from half a mile away. TupperII sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Okita misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
TupperII moves out of range as Okita strikes.
Okita dips to his left and cracks TupperII with an uppercut!
Good exchange - Okita coming out on top.
TupperII takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
TupperII bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Okita is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Okita lands a two punch combo.
Mikio Okita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Okita keeps the fight on the outside.
Okita jabs TupperII to the body, keeping him at a distance.
TupperII tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
TupperII tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Okita paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Okita misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from TupperII.
TupperII takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Okita keeps the fight on the outside.

Okita throws a body punch but TupperII moves out of range.

Okita just misses with a punch to the body.
TupperII moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Okita scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Okita looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Okita comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by TupperII.
Okita misses with a few strikes there.
Okita jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Okita misses with a hook.
TupperII tries to clinch up but Okita circles away and keeps his distance.
Okita throws an overhand right that lands on TupperII's shoulder, as TupperII tries to avoid the shot.

A looping hook to the body misses from Okita. TupperII does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Okita counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Okita thows a huge punch but TupperII dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
TupperII pushes Okita off but Okita dives into side control.
TupperII is not content to let Okita control the position.
TupperII stops Okita from passing to mount.
TupperII gets back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Okita looks to land a right hand but TupperII moved out of range.
Okita shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. TupperII defends it nicely.

Okita is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in TupperII's half guard.
TupperII is looking to escape.
Okita is pressing down on TupperII's thigh, looking to free his foot. TupperII is holding on for now.

TupperII manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Okita keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Okita prevents the takedown attempt.
Okita is working for takedown but TupperII is calmly controlling the position for now.
TupperII drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Okita gets the underhooks and prevents it.
TupperII keeps control of Okita as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
TupperII is trying to force a seperation but Okita has the dominant position.
TupperII prevents Okita from breaking the clinch.
Okita wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Okita's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Okita feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits TupperIIs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Okita will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Okita throws a body punch but TupperII moves out of range.
Okita looks to land a left hand but TupperII moved out of range nicely.
Bobby TupperII is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
TupperII looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

TupperII is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Okita is trying to force a seperation but TupperII has the dominant position.
TupperII has Okita pressed against the cage, preventing Okita from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

TupperII wants to take the fight to the mat but Okita manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
TupperII is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Okita gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

TupperII tries to land a knee to the head but Okita blocks with his arms.
Okita has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Okita is trying to trip TupperII. He has hold of a leg but TupperII is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Okita persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
TupperII wants to sweep here but Okita controlling him for the moment.
Our spies down at at *Nelson Fight Camp* 17 coaches inform us that TupperII has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Okita has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Okita tries to pass to full mount but TupperII defends it.

Mikio Okita overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

TupperII changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Okita tries to avoid it but TupperII manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Okita to the ground. Okita escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

so Okita counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
TupperII is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Okita is controlling him.

Okita passes easily into side control. Nice work.
TupperII tries to bench press Okita off him but Okita keeps the position.

TupperII takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
TupperII prevents Okita from moving into mount.
Okita gets to mount! TupperII was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Okita fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
TupperII is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Oooh a big shot lands for Okita! TupperII is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
