Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Old Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Old Child could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Philip Blake's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Old Child!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philip Blake!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Child shoots in but no luck this time.

Blake tries to sprawl but Child drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Child trying to advance position but Blake counters by regaining guard.
Blake has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Main Event Gym . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Child trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Child wants to pass the guard but Blake is keeping the position.
Child loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Child has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Child throws a strike but Blake rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Child is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Child seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Child is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Child working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blake doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blake manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Child is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blake trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Child has control of Blake's left arm, preventing Blake from doing any damage.
Blake has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Child is proving hard to escape from.
Child is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Old Child.

Blake clinches up with Child and pushes him back against the cage.
Child misses with a punch to the body.
Blake unloads a knee to the mid-section. Child lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Child misses with the head strike.

Blake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Child.
Child is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Child throws a strike aimed at the side of Blake's head but Blake avoids it well.
Child working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Child in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Blake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Child wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Blake is trying to control Child's posture but Child avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Child cracks Blake with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Child tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Child throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Blake works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Blake controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Blake is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Old Child will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A telegraphed right hand from Blake misses the target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Blake connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Blake clinches up against the cage.
Blake lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Child misses with a hook from the clinch.
Blake blocking some punches.
Child tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blake smiles and moves away.
A big left from Child misses.
Child throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Blake sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Blake drops Child with a huge uppercut! Child drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Blake is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Blake!
Philip Blake decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
