PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark has chosen All Fired Up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Clark!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott checks a leg kick.
Abbott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Clark was well out of range. Poor timing from Abbott.
Clark lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Clark takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Clark tries to land a front kick but Abbott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Abbott has been working on his boxing with his coaches at DILLIGAF Dojo III in the buildup to the fight.
Clark goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Brenden Abbott has been cut.
Abbott shoots in for a takedown but Clark shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Abbott lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Abbott takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Clark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abbott moves away.

Clark stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Abbott.

so Abbott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Abbott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Abbott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clark holds on and takes a little breather.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Abbott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Clark feints and then cracks Abbott's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Abbott down.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brenden Abbott will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abbott closes the distance and clinches up with Clark, looking for a takedown. Abbott pushes Clark against the cage but Clark circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Oooooh!!! Clark has knocked Abbott down with a huge combo! Clark steps away and waves a wobbly Abbott back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Brenden Abbott is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Clark is stalking Abbott. Abbott circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Clark, and it's lights out! Abbott really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
