Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Uso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uso comes to the cage accompanied by Get Up. Foster has chosen I Still Believe as his entrance music. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joshua Uso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, AJ Foster!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Foster seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Uso does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Foster performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Foster is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Foster wants to control from the top but Uso keeps moving.
Foster advances to half guard.
Uso is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foster wants to get back to his feet.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Foster is trying to control. Uso wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by AJ Foster.

Foster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Foster drops down looking for an ankle pick but Uso pulls his leg out and moves away.
Uso slips a jab and a cross from Foster.

Foster uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Uso.
Foster thows a left - swing and a miss!
No luck for Foster with that takedown attempt.
Foster tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Uso defends well and Foster ends up having to push Uso into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Foster decides to pull guard.
Foster wants to sweep but no luck.

Foster is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uso is aware though and is defending well.
Uso slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uso is pushing down on Foster's leg trying to pass to half guard. Foster is fighting to maintain full guard but Uso has managed to sneak the leg through.

Uso takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Foster has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Uso is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foster wants to control but Uso is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Uso tries to stand but can't do so whilst Foster controls his leg.
Uso winds up and cracks Foster with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Foster is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Uso pulls his head out easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Foster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Uso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Uso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Foster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

AJ Foster dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Uso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Uso can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Foster controls the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Foster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Uso manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Foster has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Uso is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Horrible takedown by Uso or perhaps it was just good defense by Foster which made him look bad.
Uso closes the distance and clinches up with Foster, looking for a takedown. Uso pushes Foster against the cage but Foster circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Uso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Foster tries to get to full guard but Uso has control of the leg.
Foster wants to control but Uso is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Foster is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Uso defends well.
Uso cracks Foster with a solid left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Foster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uso's guard.
Foster tries to free his leg and advance position but Uso is retaining full guard.

Foster postures up in Uso's guard and throws a big left but Uso blocks it.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Uso is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.

Foster has his foot on Uso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Uso works his way back into a safe position though.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Foster swings wildly with an uppercut but Uso uses good head movement to avoid it.

Foster jumps guard but Uso stands there with Foster around his waist. Foster gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Foster has Uso pressed against the cage, preventing Uso from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Foster misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Uso enables Foster to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Uso manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Foster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Foster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uso swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Uso is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Foster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Uso looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Uso looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Uso!

Foster is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Uso off and has taken his back!
Foster is looking to control Uso but Uso is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Foster might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Uso haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Foster seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Uso's chin but Uso turns very nicely into Foster's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Uso.
Uso wants to control from the top but Foster keeps moving.

Uso loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
AJ Foster has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Foster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Uso gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

AJ Foster comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Foster has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
