Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes to the cage accompanied by Comfortably Numb. Merik Hunt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dean Stevens's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Merik Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hunt scores with a leg kick.
Stevens just misses with a punch to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stevens has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Stevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Merik Hunt will probably get the nod.

Stevens throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hunt sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stevens seems to have recovered his senses.

Hunt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Merik Hunt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Merik Hunt.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hunt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
