Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lerry Sancio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naya Shinoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sancio kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Faint. The crowd seem to be enjoying Shinoki 's choice of entrance music: wadiako. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naya Shinoki !
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinoki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sancio lands a head kick. Shinoki smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Sancio throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sancio throws a series of punches but Shinoki moves out of range.
Sancio throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shinoki .
A chopping leg kick lands by Sancio.

Shinoki looks to land a combination but Sancio avoids it well.
Shinoki shoots in looking for a takedown but Sancio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shinoki 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sancio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sancio looks to land a left hand but Shinoki moved out of range nicely.

Shinoki looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shinoki stays in close to Sancio's body and controls the position.
Shinoki is looking to pass into half guard but Sancio pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sancio is in guard.

Shinoki is looking for a triangle but Sancio pushes his legs off easily.
Shinoki has a closed guard, preventing Sancio from standing up.
Sancio wants to control from the top but Shinoki keeps moving.
Sancio looking to sit in guard and control but Shinoki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sancio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shinoki controls the pace.

Sancio wants to hit a switch here but Shinoki passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sancio there!
Shinoki unloads with some shots from mount but Sancio bucks and avoids them well.
Shinoki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Sancio tries to hold on but Shinoki postures up.

Shinoki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sancio is looking to escape.
Shinoki throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
My spies in [CBK] ONI Grappling Academy inform me that Shinoki has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Sancio has given up his back here. Will Shinoki look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Shinoki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sancio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sancio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sancio wants to stand but Shinoki is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shinoki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sancio defends well.

Naya Shinoki dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sancio lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shinoki backs up against the cage.

and Shinoki counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sancio is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Sancio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shinoki looks to land a combination but Sancio avoids it well.
Sancio lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shinoki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sancio moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Shinoki shoots in looking for a takedown. Sancio tries to sprawl out of it but Shinoki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sancio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sancio drops Shinoki with a naaaaasty hook - Shinoki is in real trouble here! Sancio dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
