The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pajaanen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Azhiev avoids a kick to the body.
Azhiev tries to clinch up but Pajaanen circles away and keeps his distance.

Pajaanen feints and as Azhiev raises his hands in defense, Pajaanen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Azhiev has momentary wrist control but Pajaanen slips an elbow through the middle.
Pajaanen scoring with some ground and pound.
Pajaanen is looking to work some ground and pound but Azhiev has wrist control.
Pajaanen stands up over Azhiev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Azhiev is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pajaanen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Pajaanen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azhiev on the ground.
Pajaanen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Azhiev's head.

Azhiev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pajaanen is aware though and is defending well.

Azhiev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pajaanen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Azhiev is tightening it up a little... Pajaanen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pajaanen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pajaanen taps out! Nice BJJ there by Azhiev!
