The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws a leg kick but Bubbles sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bubbles.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bubbles tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Bubbles is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bubbles asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Bubbles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bubbles looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bubbles. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Bubbles shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Davis sneaks out the side door and pushes Bubbles away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Davis lands a left and a right that send Bubbles crashing to the mat, dazed. Davis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Ricky Bubbles has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bubbles throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bubbles is in Davis's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
