Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Demetrio!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Demetrio throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santana was covering up waiting for the punch and Demetrio finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Santana keeping moving, preventing Demetrio from controlling successfully.
Santana wants to stand up but Demetrio is controlling him.
Demetrio wants to pass the guard but Santana is keeping the position.

Demetrio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santana swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Santana really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Demetrio looking to sit in guard and control but Santana gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've been hearing good reports from Santana's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Demetrio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Santana defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Demetrio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Santana can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
