The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poon misses with a straight right.
Cabrillo tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Poon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cabrillo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Poon swivels and escapes.
A big left from Poon misses.
Poon swings for the body but Cabrillo moves out of range.
Cabrillo tries to clinch up but Poon circles away and keeps his distance.
Poon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Poon loads up on a big right hand but Cabrillo slips the punch.

Cabrillo clinches with his opponent.
We've been informed that Poon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Cabrillo tries a body shot but Poon blocks it.
Cabrillo working aggressively here.
Poon gets through Cabrillo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Cabrillo lands an elbow inside that Poon shrugs off.
Poon working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Cabrillo lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Poon throws a punch but it's blocked by Cabrillo.
Poon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cabrillo tries to work over Poon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cabrillo lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Poon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cabrillo avoids it.

Poon blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Poon blocks an uppercut.
Cabrillo misses with a short punch on the inside.
Poon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Poon tries to throw a body punch but Cabrillo avoids it by throwing Poon back against the cage.
Poon wants to break free but Cabrillo has control.

Cabrillo has clasped his hands together around Poon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Cabrillo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Poon some visible discomfort.

Poon is pushing Cabrillo's head away, looking to escape. Cabrillo manages to hold on to the position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cabrillo looks up at the clock and then as Poon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cabrillo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Poon is trying to control Cabrillo's posture but Cabrillo avoids it.
Poon is still in real trouble! Can Cabrillo finish him?
Poon managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cabrillo.
Poon wants to get back to his feet but Cabrillo drags him back down.
Poon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Cabrillo lands a big left to the face of Poon, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Cabrillo and another - Poon is out! Cabrillo stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.
