PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Trillanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Capone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trillanes comes to the cage accompanied by It's A Fight - Three 6 Mafia. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trillanes slips a straight right by Capone.
Capone scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

It looks like Antonio Trillanes has been cut.
Capone lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Trillanes takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Capone fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Trillanes on the side of the head.
Capone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Capone delivers a nice body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Capone walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Trillanes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Capone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trillanes swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Trillanes has Capone up against the cage in a clinch.
Capone works on Trillanes's body with a couple of short punches.

Capone lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Trillanes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Trillanes pulls Capone into guard.
Capone trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Trillanes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Capone wants to control from the top but Trillanes keeps moving.

Capone gets to his feet. Trillanes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Capone takes a swing at Trillanes's ribcage but misses.

Capone swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Trillanes.
A jab from Capone does it's job there.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Capone.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Capone is looking to clinch but Trillanes is avoiding it.
That kick from Capone tenderised Trillanes's leg. Trillanes is trying to keep his angry face on.

Trillanes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Trillanes throws the left hand but Capone avoids the punch easily.
Trillanes misses with a looping right.

Capone clinches with his opponent.
Capone throws a knee to the head but misses.
Trillanes managing to block the knees to the body from Capone.
Trillanes jumps guard but Capone turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Still in the clinch, Capone scores with a nice short uppercut.

Trillanes jumps guard but Capone stands there with Trillanes around his waist. Trillanes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Trillanes trying to stall but Capone improves his position.
Capone has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
Capone avoiding damage.
Trillanes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Capone looking to throw knees to the head but Trillanes is blocking nicely.
Trillanes's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Capone keeps control of Trillanes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Capone gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Trillanes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Capone to keep the fight standing.

Trillanes is trying to pull guard but Capone turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Capone stands up and waves to Trillanes to follow him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Capone on the wrong end of a nice hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Well, if Capone is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Capone's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Capone is trying to control the action in half guard but Trillanes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Al Capone wasn't active enough on the ground.
Capone goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Capone just misses with a punch to the body.

Trillanes throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Capone stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Trillanes follows into mount!

It looks like Al Capone has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Capone sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Capone is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trillanes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trillanes's back!
Trillanes prevents Capone from getting a body triangle.
Capone is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Capone tries to get the hooks in deep but Trillanes pushed the leg off.
Capone is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Capone decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Trillanes is looking to land body kicks.
Trillanes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Capone is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trillanes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Capone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Capone is breathing heavily.
