Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Better!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jared Michael!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael cracks Better with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Evan Better has been cut.
Michael slips a jab and a cross from Better.
Better tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Michael swivels and escapes.
Jab by Michael.
Better shoots in looking for a takedown but Michael manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Better's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Better fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Michael sprawls well initially but Better persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Better tries to pass the half guard into mount. Michael knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Better is trying to work for a kimura but Michael is defending well.

Better looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Michael wants to improve his position but Better is controlling well.

Better is looking for a kimura here.
Better tries to stand and escape but Michael is controlling the position.

Better keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Better sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Michael defending well though.
Better is trying to control the action in half guard but Michael is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Michael connects with a body shot.
Nice defenses there by Better.
Better moves away from the strike by Michael.
Michael takes a swing at Better's ribcage but misses.
Better closes the distance and clinches up with Michael, looking for a takedown. Better pushes Michael against the cage but Michael circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Better. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Michael fails to land with a series of punches.

Better closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Better decides to take the fight back to the feet.

A bone on bone clash there as Better blocks the leg kick.

Michael throws a lazy uppercut
and Better counters with a nice uppercut.
Better fails in his attempt to clinch.
Michael stuffs the takedown attempt from Better. Better gets slowly back to his feet.
Better fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Michael avoids it really well and circles away.
Better has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Michael.

Michael drops Better with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Better looks back up at him and smiles so Michael waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Michael lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Better falls backwards - clearly groggy! Michael dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jared Michael!
After winning the bout, Jared Michael thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
