Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jussi Ahma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray has chosen GLADIATOR THEME as his entrance music. Roman Ray has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jussi Ahma!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Ray!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahma throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ray's waist but Ray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ahma off to one side.
Ray scores with a nice strike.
Ahma will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ahma shoots in for a double leg but Ray sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jussi Ahma. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ahma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ray tries to avoid it but Ahma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ray to the ground. Ray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ahma bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ray looks to land a left hand but Ahma moved out of range nicely.
Ray scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ray darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Ahma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ahma tries to score with some ground and pound. Ray controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Ray can't do much from the bottom here.
Ray might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ahma kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ahma thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ahma has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Ray tries to reverse the position but Ahma maintains control.
Ray is trying to stand.
Ray reaches up and holds on to Ahma to control the position.
Ray is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ray really wants to buck Ahma off and get back to his feet.
Ray is desperately trying to improve his position but Ahma has a good base and remains in mount.
Ahma looking to finish with strikes here!
Ray tries to buck Ahma off but he can't manage it.
Ray manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ahma is looking for a kimura here.
Ray wants to improve his position but Ahma is controlling well.
Ahma works his foot free and advances to mount.
Ray takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Ahma avoids the attempt from Ray to control.

Ahma is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ray has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ray!

Ahma manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ray manages to get himself to full guard.
Ray is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ahma looking to sit in guard and control but Ray gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ray must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ray wants to control from the top but Ahma keeps moving.
Ahma looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ray wants to stand but Ahma has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ahma throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ray throws a big shot that misses.
Ahma misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ray.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ahma.

Ray sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Ray moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ray controls Ahma momentarily but Ahma frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jussi Ahma will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ahma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ray tries to avoid it but Ahma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ray to the ground. Ray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ahma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ray as he avoids it easily.

Ray connects with a jab.
Ray throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ray misses with a series of wild punches.
Ahma throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ahma tries for a takedown but Ray sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jussi Ahma. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ahma misses with a leg kick.
Ray lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ray.
Ahma has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Ahma is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oh Ahma is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ahma doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ahma takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ahma seems to have got his legs back now.
Ray lunges at Ahma with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ahma's hand.
Ahma takes one to the chin there.
Roman Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ray looks to throw the jab but Ahma is out of range.
Ahma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ray as he avoids it easily.
Ahma takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ray sizes up Ahma with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ahma takes one to the side of the head.
Nice takedown defense from Ray. No joy for Ahma on that attempt.
Ray cracks Ahma on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ahma falls backwards against the cage. Ray follows up with more strikes that drop Ahma to his knees. Ray keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ahma! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roman Ray!
