PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kizeal Ingram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Reggie Jackson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Reggie Jackson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kizeal Ingram!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ingram fails to land with a series of punches.
Ingram throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jackson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ingram connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jackson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ingram.
Ingram lands a nice shot to the body.
Jackson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kizeal Ingram seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ingram pinned against the cage. Ingram gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ingram misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jackson.

Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ingram has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jackson is keen to just control but Ingram is a slippery customer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ingram controls his leg.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ingram defends it well.
Ingram is looking to improve his position.
Jackson passes to full mount!
Ingram really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ingram really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jackson unloads with some shots from mount but Ingram bucks and avoids them well.

Jackson working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ingram looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Jackson! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Reggie Jackson!
