Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Jerks!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis clinches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Jerks tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pettis smiles and moves away.
Anthony Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pettis.
Pettis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pettis moves into range and clinches up with Jerks.
Jerks tries to circle away but Pettis has him pinned against the cage.
Pettis blocks an elbow strike from Jerks.
Pettis is pressed up against the cage. Jerks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pettis down to the mat. Pettis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jerks tries to keep at a distance but Pettis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Pettis is pushing Jerks up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Pettis scores with a shoulder strike.
Jerks wants a takedown but no success here.
Pettis keeps control of Jerks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pettis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Jerks is working for takedown but Pettis is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jerks is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pettis to keep the fight standing.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jerks has a closed guard, preventing Pettis from standing up.

Jerks has an active guard here but Pettis has managed to pass into half guard.

Jerks takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Pettis scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jerks in his tracks.
Jerks goes for a double leg but Pettis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pettis continues to drive forward.
Jerks is trying desperately to land a takedown but Pettis is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jerks.

Jerks tries to move into range but Pettis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Pettis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jerks tries to pull guard but Pettis holds him up against the cage and eventually Jerks drops back down to his feet.

Pettis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pettis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Pettis throws a push kick but Jerks slaps the foot to one side.

Jerks gets tackled into the cage by Pettis. Pettis maintains the clinch.
Jerks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pettis walks away with a smile on his face. Jerks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pettis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jerks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jerks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pettis gets to his feet - Jerks follows without any prompting.

Pettis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jerks has time to react.
A head kick misses from Jerks.
Jerks shoots in looking for a takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl out of it but Jerks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pettis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jerks takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jerks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pettis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pettis clinches up with Jerks and pushes him back against the cage.

Jerks on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jerks's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pettis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jerks scrambles back to his feet.
