PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pirate Dan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pantera - Cowboys from Hell kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dan takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch.

Jackson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dan doesn't seem bothered though.

Jackson lands a big uppercut and Dan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Dan looks OK. Jackson waves Dan back to his feet!

Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jackson sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Dan looks to land a right hand but Jackson moved out of range.
Jackson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dan.
Jackson throws a hook to the side of Dan's head but Dan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Dan looks up at the clock and then as Jackson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That was a close round but I would say that Pirate Dan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
