Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Major Lazer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Nickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazer comes to the cage accompanied by Major Lazer - Pon De Floor. Nickson has chosen Flybanger - Cavalry as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lazer.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lazer checks a leg kick.
Nickson throws a head kick that misses.
Nickson tries to bum rush Lazer with a series of wild strikes but Lazer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nickson misses with a telegraphed body shot

so Lazer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nickson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lazer is controlling him.

Nickson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lazer jabs Nickson right on the nose. Nickson blinks but takes it well.
Lazer checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lazer throws a lazy right hand but Nickson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nickson throws a low kick, looking for Lazer's leg but Lazer calmly moves out of range.

Lazer shoots in and bounces Nickson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lazer drops back looking for a leg! Nickson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nickson manages to kick Lazer off! Lazer jumps back into Nickson's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lazer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Nickson wants to stand and escape but Lazer is having none of it.
Nickson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Nickson has momentary wrist control but Lazer slips an elbow through the middle.
Lazer wants to pass the guard but Nickson is keeping the position.

Nickson is trying to stand up here but Lazer is controlling him well.

Lazer winds up and cracks Nickson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lazer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nickson wants to stand back up but Lazer manages to pass into side control.
Lazer grinds an elbow into Nickson's temple.
Nickson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Lazer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lazer cracks Nickson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Nickson is trying to stand up.

Nickson wants to try and get back to his feet.
Lazer lands a heavy elbow.

Lazer lands a big shot there that rocks Nickson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Nickson somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Nickson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lazer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nickson scrambles back to his feet.
Nickson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lazer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lazer stops Nickson from standing up.
Nickson looks winded!
Lazer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lazer slips nicely into half guard.
Lazer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nickson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lazer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lazer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Nickson is looking to get back to is feet but Lazer passes into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nickson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lazer asserts his dominance and retains side control.
