Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randall McMurphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McMurphy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I own Golly God.. Thompson has chosen LL Cool J - Mamma Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thompson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McMurphy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from McMurphy. Thompson does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thompson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Thompson throws a lazy right hand but McMurphy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thompson feints and then cracks McMurphy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McMurphy down.
McMurphy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thompson was well out of range. Poor timing from McMurphy.

McMurphy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Thompson uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McMurphy defends it well.

Thompson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Thompson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because McMurphy has locked up a guillotine! McMurphy's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Thompson is holding on here and McMurphy must be using up a lot of energy. Thompson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! McMurphy gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

A very excited looking Randall McMurphy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
