Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Bukowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bukowski's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Donatan, Gural, Sheller, Kaczor, Ry23, Rafi - Słowiańska krew. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Piotr Bukowski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshin Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bukowski steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yamamoto.

Yamamoto looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Yamamoto working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bukowski keeping moving, preventing Yamamoto from controlling successfully.
Yamamoto throws a big right hand that misses.
Yamamoto wants to pass the guard but Bukowski is keeping the position.
Yamamoto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yamamoto pushes down on Bukowski's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yamamoto wants to pass to mount but Bukowski is defending the position.

Yamamoto controlling the pace.
Yamamoto lands strikes from half guard.

Yamamoto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bukowski defends it well.
Yamamoto looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bukowski has his hands clasped together around Yamamoto's back. He's all about the action.
Well, if Yamamoto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bukowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yamamoto on the ground.

Bukowski wants to improve his position but Yamamoto is controlling well.
Yamamoto lands strikes from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bukowski is refusing to be controlled, as Yamamoto sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Yamamoto thows a body shot but no joy.
Bukowski misses with a hook. Yamamoto ducked under it nicely.
Bukowski connects with a body shot that sends Yamamoto's belly button to the back.
Bukowski pivots, looking for a leg kick but Yamamoto is out of range and Bukowski settles back down.
Yamamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bukowski's waist but Bukowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamamoto off to one side.
Bukowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bukowski scores with a hook to the body. Yamamoto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Yamamoto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Yamamoto showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bukowski wants to get back to full guard but Yamamoto has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenshin Yamamoto dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bukowski feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Yamamoto's calf.
We've been told by Bukowski's head coaches at Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bukowski throws a body kick that misses.
Yamamoto throws a jab when Bukowski was well out of range.
Bukowski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bukowski lands a lovely overhand right.
Bukowski fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bukowski dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Yamamoto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fighters circling - Bukowski throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Yamamoto scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bukowski wants to get back to full guard.
Bukowski avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Yamamoto.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yamamoto wants to control but Bukowski is keeping him busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yamamoto connects with a nice short shot to Bukowski's temple.
Yamamoto works his way into full mount!
Bukowski in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Bukowski that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yamamoto has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bukowski's face.
Yamamoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yamamoto unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Bukowski wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Yamamoto celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenshin Yamamoto!
Kenshin Yamamoto is the new bantamweight champion!

Piotr Bukowski spoke after the fight, saying 'I demand rematch!'.
