Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lex Luther!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luther misses the shot to the body.

Watson connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Luther to the floor! Watson dives in looking for the finish!


It looks like Lex Luther has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Luther is staying active underneath Watson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Watson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Luther wants to get back to his feet.

Watson is trying to work for a kimura but Luther is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Watson trying to control the action but Luther is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Luther wants to get back to his feet.

Mason Watson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Luther tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Watson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Luther utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Watson is stalling in the full guard.

Watson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Watson stays in close to Luther's body and controls the position.
Luther avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Watson throws a strike but Luther rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Watson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Watson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Watson has his foot on Luther's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luther works his way back into a safe position though.
Watson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Luther is one step ahead there.
Luther must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Luther has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Watson is proving hard to escape from.

Luther got a little sloppy there for a moment and Watson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Luther has managed to get both his arms back between Watson's legs - danger averted.
Watson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Luther trying to control but Watson is working from the bottom.

Watson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luther defends it easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Watson holds on and takes a little breather.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Watson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Watson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lex Luther's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Watson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Watson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Luther has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mason Watson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Watson is trying for a kimura here. Luther looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Watson wins by kimura!
