Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Harunodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speed comes to the cage accompanied by The Ramones / Blitzkrieg Bop. Nathan Speed could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Miles Harunodo's chin.

With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miles Harunodo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed lands with a kick to the ribs.
Speed misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A good leg kick by Harunodo.
Harunodo looks to land a body kick but Speed moved away.
Speed has been working on his balance at Rough House, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Harunodo.
Speed looks to land a left hand but Harunodo moved out of range nicely.
Harunodo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Some wild striking there from Harunodo.
Speed takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Speed misses with a head kick.
Harunodo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Harunodo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Harunodo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Speed drops his hands momentarily and Harunodo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Harunodo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miles Harunodo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Harunodo throws a leg kick which misses Speed's front leg but catches the back leg as Speed tries to avoid it.
Harunodo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Speed ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Speed connects with a good right hand that stumbles Harunodo. Harunodo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Harunodo throws a lazy right hand but Speed sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Speed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Speed scores with the left hand. Harunodo knows he should have avoided that one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A low kick from Speed is predictable there
and Harunodo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Speed drives through with a takedown into Harunodo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Speed seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Speed closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harunodo is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harunodo can do anything to dispel that myth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Speed dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Speed scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Harunodo doesn't seem bothered though.

Harunodo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Speed throws out the jab.

Speed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nathan Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harunodo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Harunodo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Speed slips a jab and a cross from Harunodo.
Harunodo has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Speed.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Harunodo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Speed - the referee stops the clock and Harunodo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Speed. Harunodo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Nice body punch from Speed - that landed with a thud.
Speed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Speed misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Speed keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harunodo's efforts to push away.

It looks like Miles Harunodo has been cut.
Harunodo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Miles Harunodo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Harunodo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Harunodo throws a solid leg kick but Speed takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Harunodo.

Speed has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Speed there as he acknowledges the shot.

Harunodo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Speed circles away quickly and effectively.

and Speed counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Speed throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Speed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Speed throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Speed lands a nice looking kick to the body. Harunodo takes a step back to recover.
Harunodo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Speed.

Harunodo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Speed lands with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Speed clobbers Harunodo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Speed lands a nice leg kick that just misses Harunodo's sensitive parts.
