The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vilenius throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

No joy there for Vilenius, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Matah is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vilenius sees it coming and defends easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Matah wants to control the pace but Vilenius is squirming around nicely.

Matah is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vilenius to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vilenius shrugs it off.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Matah working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Matah is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Vilenius is surviving well by controlling Matah's body position as best he can.
Vilenius sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matah wants to free his trapped foot but Vilenius is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Vilenius is looking for a sweep. Matah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
