Cronos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sandstorm. McBain has chosen Alien8 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McBain closes the distance and clinches.
McBain throws an elbow that misses.
Cronos blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
McBain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McBain pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Cronos is trying to push McBain away but McBain has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
McBain stalling in the clinch but Cronos improves position.
Cronos blocks the elbow strike.
McBain prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cronos wants a takedown but no success here.
McBain lands a nice knee to the body.
McBain lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Cronos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McBain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Peter McBain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cronos drops back, looking for a kneebar! McBain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McBain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McBain!
McBain remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Cronos tries to buck McBain off but McBain is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cronos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

I would just about give that final round to Peter McBain.
