Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatton Chantry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamood Hallak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tatton Chantry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hamood Hallak!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallak scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Tatton Chantry has been cut.
Hallak throws a nice looking combination but Chantry bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chantry shoots in for a takedown but Hallak shows good takedown defense.
Chantry keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hallak.

Chantry drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Chantry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hallak works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Chantry wants to pass the guard but Hallak is keeping the position.
Chantry passes Hallak's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Chantry is looking for a kimura but Hallak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chantry to get the leverage.
Chantry is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hallak reverses the position - he's now on top in Chantry's guard.

Chantry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hallak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chantry looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hallak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hallak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chantry avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Chantry shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hallak napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Chantry wants to control but Hallak is keeping him busy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Hallak misses with a hook to the body

and Chantry counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Chantry throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chantry thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hallak's head.

Hallak is trying to stand up here but Chantry is controlling him well.

Chantry throws a strike but Hallak avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Chantry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hallak knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hallak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chantry drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hallak manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chantry has Hallak in his guard.

You can see the frustration on Chantry's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sloppy strikes from Hallak. Those never looked like landing.
Hallak looks to land a right hand but Chantry moved out of range.

Chantry uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hallak.

Hallak scores with a hook to the body. Chantry takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Hallak tries to bum rush Chantry with a series of wild strikes but Chantry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hallak has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Chantry is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hallak lets loose with a powerful body kick. Chantry will feel that in the morning.

Hamood Hallak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chantry uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hallak.
Hallak tries to land a front kick but Chantry steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Hallak throws a hook to the side of Chantry's head but Chantry sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hamood Hallak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hallak is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Chantry like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Chantry from another fist facial!
