Noriega comes to the cage accompanied by GO TO SLEEP. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orlando Noriega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ron Kane!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noriega lands a glancing blow to the side of Kane's head.
Kane checks the leg kick.
Kane wants to clinch up but Noriega keeps it at a distance.
Kane tries a head kick but it misses.
Orlando Noriega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kane throws a jab when Noriega was well out of range.
Noriega lands a leg kick that knocks Kane off balance momentarily.
A punch combination from Kane misses.

Noriega tries to keep at a distance but Kane has taken the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kane.
Kane misses with the head strike.
Noriega blocking some punches.
Good body shot from Noriega.
Kane throws a punch but it's blocked by Noriega.
Kane throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Noriegas head.
I was talking to Noriega's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Noriega blocking some punches.
Kane misses with a hook from the clinch.
Kane misses with the head strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kane swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Noriega breaks the clinch.
Noriega connects with a body shot.
Noriega ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kane moves away.
Kane wants to clinch but Noriega slips to the side
and Noriega counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Ron Kane has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Noriega is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kane flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kane is out cold! Noriega holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Orlando Noriega!
Orlando Noriega gave a mention to Conviction in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
