Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martez Cortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelly Leak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martez Cortega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kelly Leak!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leak showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cortega.
Leak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cortega tries to avoid it but Leak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cortega to the ground. Cortega escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cortega looks for the body kick but Leak saw that one coming.
Cortega fails with a takedown attempt.

Good leg kick by Cortega there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Leak drives through and clinches with Cortega against the cage.

Leak keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cortega's efforts to push away.

Leak has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cortega after a bit of a struggle.
Martez Cortega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kelly Leak.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Leak has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Leak is trying to drag Cortega to the mat but Cortega just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Cortega is trying to push Leak away but Leak has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leak dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cortega. That did some damage!

Leak shoots in and gets a takedown into Cortega's guard.
Leak is working Cortega over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cortega is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Leak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cortega circles away quickly and effectively.
