The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Felino circles away from the clinch attempt

so Felino counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Christian has momentary wrist control but Felino slips an elbow through the middle.
Christian wants to get back to his feet but Felino is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Christian can do anything to dispel that myth.
Felino throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Christian works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Felino is working Christian over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Felino might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Felino's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
