Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Milan Savic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flavio Lazzarini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lazzarini's choice of entrance music: Goffredo Mameli - 'Il Canto degli Italiani'. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Lazzarini throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Savic throws an off balance right hand

and Lazzarini holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Savic digs a right hand into Lazzarini's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lazzarini's gas tank.

Lazzarini is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Savic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Savic is taking a breather. Lazzarini says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Savic is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lazzarini doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Savic.

Savic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lazzarini swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lazzarini is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Savic is controlling him.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Flavio Lazzarini wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Savic counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lazzarini!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lazzarini tries to bench press Savic off him but Savic keeps the position.

Savic is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lazzarini knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Savic wants to control but Lazzarini is keeping him busy.

Savic seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lazzarini does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lazzarini has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Savic works his foot free and advances to mount.
Lazzarini is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lazzarini is squirming around, avoiding Savic's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Savic throwing strikes here but Lazzarini is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Savic has hold of Lazzarini's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lazzarini manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Oh Savic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lazzarini circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Savic to the canvas! Savic doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Lazzarini keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A determined Flavio Lazzarini didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
