The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Vercotti misses.
Horrible takedown by Weston or perhaps it was just good defense by Vercotti which made him look bad.
Vercotti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Weston was well out of range. Poor timing from Vercotti.
Weston darts in looking for a takedown but Vercotti gets double underhooks and turns Weston into the cage.
Weston is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vercotti in particular looking to stall.
Vercotti seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Weston for as long as he can get away with.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Weston enables Vercotti to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weston manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vercotti accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vercotti lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Weston has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Weston and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Good leg kick by Weston there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
