Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre Babin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Pierre Babin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Babin wants it to stay on the feet.
Gracie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Babin.
Babin looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range.
Gracie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gracie moves out of range of the strikes.
Babin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gracie can pounce on him.
Sloppy strikes from Babin. Those never looked like landing.
Babin looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.
Babin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.

We've been informed that Babin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Babin parries the strikes from Gracie easily there. Gracie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Babin to escape.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
