Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donny Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Monkey Junction. Shephard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. You All Everybody kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Donny Davis has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shephard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Davis thows a body shot but no joy.
Davis misses with a combination
and Shephard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Davis thinking.
Davis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Davis looks for the body kick but Shephard saw that one coming.
Donny Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like Jack Shephard has been cut.
Davis tries to bum rush Shephard with a series of wild strikes but Shephard uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shephard takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Shephard counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Donny Davis has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Davis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Davis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Shephard.
Shephard lands a body shot.
Davis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shephard manages to avoid it.
We've been told by Davis's head coaches at Hey Steve's Fight Shack that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Shephard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davis.
Shephard gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Some wild striking there from Davis.
Shephard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Davis scores with a jab. Shephard acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
No joy there for Shephard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Davis lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Shephard counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Davis scores with a hook to the body. Shephard takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Davis swinging wildly here.
Davis looks to land a combination but Shephard avoids it well.
Davis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shephard.
A looping hook to the body misses from Davis. Shephard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Davis tries to work over Shephard's front leg with a kick but Shephard checks it.
Davis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shephard back to the cage. Davis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Davis is looking to stand up but Shephard isn't so interested in that idea.
Shephard slips nicely into half guard.
Shephard is working for a submission of some sort.
Shephard is trying to control the action in half guard but Davis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Shephard frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shephard won't let Davis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Shephard is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard.
Davis is trying to stand up here but Shephard is controlling him well.
Shephard throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Shephard working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Davis's thigh. Davis counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Shephard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shephard distracts Davis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Shephard trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Davis manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Shephard wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
Shephard controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself.

Jack Shephard has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Davis ducks under a wild hook from Shephard.
Shephard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Davis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Shephard walks forward, straight into a front kick from Davis.
Shephard bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Davis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Shephard is able to avoid easily.

Davis throws a right and a left that Shephard avoids nicely.
Donny Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shephard doesn't seem bothered though.

Shephard closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Davis quickly recovers to half guard.
Shephard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis is trying to stand back up but Shephard is controlling him

Jack Shephard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Davis is trying to control Shephard's posture but Shephard avoids it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davis pushes Shephard away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shephard gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Shephard thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Shephard goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shephard's guard! Nice work there by Davis!
Shephard wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.
Jack Shephard has got the better of the ground game so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Shephard was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Shephard on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Davis changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Davis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Shephard connects with a body shot.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Shephard. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Davis lands with a straight right. Shephard didn't see that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shephard moves out of range as Davis strikes.

Davis misses with a double jab
and Shephard scores with a counter punch that sends Davis to the canvas! Shephard smells blood - he's punishing Davis with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Davis has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
