Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kimura might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kiyoshi Yoshida - Spirit. Silva has chosen system of a down - violent pornography as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kimura is defended easily by Silva.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kimura's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kimura manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Kimura in his guard.

Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kimura is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silva.

Kimura doesn't have the hooks in and Silva manages to turn into his guard.

Kimura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva has Kimura pulled in close to control his posture.

Silva looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kimura has picked Silva up and slammed him! Silva can't keep hold of the triangle and Kimura manages to pass to side control!
You can see the frustration on Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kimura is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Silva is controlling an arm, preventing Kimura from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Kimura has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kimura looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Silva is looking to improve his position but Kimura isn't that keen on the idea.
Silva stops Kimura from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kimura is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Kimura's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kimura shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Kimura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kimura shoots in but no luck this time.
Kimura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kimura wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.

Kimura has hold of Silva's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Silva seems comfortable defending it but Kimura has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Silva is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Silva is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kimura couldn't care less - he's delighted!
