The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hellberg looks to throw the jab but Tate is out of range.
Tate checks the leg kick nicely there.

and Tate counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Tate misses with a takedown attempt - Hellberg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hellberg goes for a double leg but Tate avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tate continues to drive forward.

Hellberg drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tate gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tate blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Tate tries to throw a body punch but Hellberg avoids it by throwing Tate back against the cage.
Tate is pressed up against the cage. Hellberg has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tate down to the mat. Tate avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Tate counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tate.

Hellberg has Tate pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tate manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hellberg has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tate is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hellberg wants a takedown but no success here.
Tate lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Hellberg drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tate pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tate drops Hellberg with a left and a right! Oh, Hellberg is hurt - Tate dives into side control looking to finish!
Hellberg is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hellberg on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Oh Hellberg is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tate grinds an elbow into Hellberg's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hellberg is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Tate can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Calvin Tate!
