The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins throws a big shot that misses.
Hopkins shoots in for a double leg but Emong I sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hopkins shoots in for a takedown but Emong I shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hopkins has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hopkins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Emong I pinned against the cage. Emong I gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Manong Emong I has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinny Hopkins.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hopkins, as that shot connected.

It looks like Manong Emong I has been cut.
Hopkins misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Emong I.
Hopkins fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Emong I on the side of the head.
Hopkins keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Emong I.
Emong I scores with a hook to the body. Hopkins takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Vinny Hopkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopkins dodges the punch combination from Emong I.
No joy there for Hopkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hopkins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Emong I.
Hopkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Emong I circles away quickly and effectively.

Hopkins throws a hook to the side of Emong I's head but Emong I sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Emong I tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hopkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Emong I.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hopkins checks a leg kick.
Hopkins throws a lazy right hand but Emong I sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hopkins misses with a straight right.
Hopkins thuds a left hand into Emong I's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Emong I scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hopkins bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Emong I's head backwards.
Emong I slips a straight right by Hopkins.
Hopkins might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hopkins connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Hopkins looks to throw the jab but Emong I is out of range.
Oh Emong I is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hopkins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Emong I sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Emong I blocks a jab.
Hopkins thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hopkins cracks Emong I's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Emong I slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Hopkins can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Vinny Hopkins spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
