PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Burt Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Bitters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bitters has chosen The Game as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bitters.

Stuart shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bitters manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bitters wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stuart is now in half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bitters can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bitters blocks the body kick.
Bitters goes for a double leg but Stuart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stuart continues to drive forward.
Stuart looking to throw knees to the head but Bitters is blocking nicely.
Stuart is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bitters is defending well.
Bitters has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stuart avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bitters fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Burt Stuart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Bitters.

Bitters tightens his grip and picks Stuart up, before dumping him to the ground. Stuart manages to land in guard.
Bitters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bitters postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stuart is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bitters, into his guard.
Stuart wants to stand but Bitters has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bitters working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Stuart has passed into half guard!
Bitters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bitters is in trouble now - Stuart has advanced to mount!

Stuart has control of Bitters's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bitters regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Bitters is still trying to improve position.
Stuart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stuart has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bitters's face.

Bitters has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Bitters prevents Stuart from getting a body triangle.

Stuart is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bitters is defending well though. Stuart let's go of the attempt for now.
Bitters trying to control the hands but Stuart won't let him.
Bitters wants to escape the position.
Stuart wants to control but Bitters is keeping busy.
Stuart is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Bitters is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stuart is looking for the choke from the back position but Bitters is controlling his hands well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stuart has the hooks in. Bitters is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Stuart shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bitters counters with a stiff right hand.
Bitters goes for a double leg but Stuart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stuart continues to drive forward.

Bitters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bitters.
Stuart wants to control but Bitters postures up.
Bitters is working Stuart over with some ground and pound from side control.
Bitters lands some shots froms side control.
Stuart is not content to let Bitters control the position.
Bitters working away.

Stuart tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bitters cracks Stuart with a big right hand but Stuart just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Stuart is rocked!
Bitters lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Oh Stuart is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big shot lands for Bitters! That's hurt Stuart! Will he recover? Bitters fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Gary Bitters spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
