Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rickie Bright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Willams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rickie Bright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Owen Willams!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willams looks to clinch

and Bright counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Willams is looking to escape.

Bright is working for a kimura here but Willams manages to reverse the position and he's now in Bright's guard.
Willams advances position into side control!

Willams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bright knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Willams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bright can't do much from the bottom here.

Willams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bright is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Willams with the ground and pound but Bright uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Bright sneaks back into half guard.
Bright looks like he's trying to stand up.
Willams looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bright has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Willams is working away from the top position though.
Bright keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Willams is thwarting Bright's attempts to control the position.

Willams is working for a kimura but Bright is defending it quite comfortably.
Willams trying to mount his opponent but Bright defends it.
Willams throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Willams uses his free foot to push down on Bright's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bright.
Bright wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Bright tries to hold on but Willams postures up.

Bright is trying to escape the mount.
Bright tries to buck Willams off but he can't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bright holds on for dear life, controlling Willams's posture momentarily.
Bright really wants to buck Willams off and get back to his feet.
Willams unloads with some shots from mount but Bright bucks and avoids them well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Willams sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Bright sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Willams seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bright leaves Willams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Willams fails in his attempt to clinch.
Willams is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Willams tries to clinch there but Bright circles away.

Willams wants to get back to his feet but Bright is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bright will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Willams is striking off his back. Bright thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Bright landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Bright is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Willams is trying to escape the mount but Bright keeps good control and instead manages to take Willams's back.

Willams staying busy and making it hard for Bright to control.
Bright is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Willams is trying to stand back up.
Bright really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bright controlling well, preventing Willams from escaping the position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Willams has an active guard here but Bright has managed to pass into half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Rickie Bright wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bright tries to close the distance and clinch but Willams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bright missing with a left hand there. Willams was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Willams lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Bright shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Willams is trying to defend but Bright finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bright is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Willams sees it coming and defends easily.
Willams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Willams keeps working.

Bright looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bright seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Willams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bright is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rickie Bright wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Willams misses with a takedown

and Bright holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Bright pulls guard successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bright pulls Willams in close to his closed guard and prevents Willams from doing any damage or advancing position.

Bright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Willams defends well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rickie Bright showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bright, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
