Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Master Kush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Markakis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kush throws an off balance right hand
and Markakis counters by clinching up.
Markakis manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kush looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Markakis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kush.
Markakis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Markakis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kush working aggressively here.
Kush misses with a hook from the clinch.
Markakis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Markakis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kush moves in looking to clinch but Markakis pushes him off.
Kush misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sloppy strikes from Kush. Those never looked like landing.
Markakis connects with the punch.
Markakis lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Kush is looking to close the distance but Markakis sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Kush crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Kush is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
