The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Griffiths is defended easily by Schelokov.
Griffiths dives in for a single leg takedown but Schelokov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Schelokov wants to get back to striking at distance but Griffiths won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Schelokov's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Griffiths has Schelokov pressed against the cage, preventing Schelokov from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Griffiths tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schelokov smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Griffiths. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Griffiths tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Schelokov defends well and Griffiths ends up having to push Schelokov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Schelokov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schelokov dips to his left and cracks Griffiths with an uppercut!

Schelokov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Schelokov misses with a series of wild punches.

Griffiths shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Schelokov tries to kick Griffiths off but Griffiths keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Griffiths stalling away here and it's allowed Schelokov to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Schelokov is looking to stand up but Griffiths isn't so interested in that idea.

Griffiths postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schelokov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Griffiths, into his guard.
