Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Struggling Desperately (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romano Redz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Struggling Desperately has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Struggling Desperately!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romano Redz!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redz lands with a straight right. Desperately didn't see that one coming.
Romano Redz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Redz moves away from the strike by Desperately.
Redz misses with a lunging right hand
and Desperately makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Redz misses with a series of wild punches.
Desperately throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Desperately's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Redz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Desperately scrambles back to his feet.
Desperately ducks under a wild hook from Redz.
Redz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Desperately momentarily.
Desperately misses with a two punch combination.
Desperately keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Redz.
Desperately misses with a straight right.
Redz throws the left hand but Desperately avoids the punch easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Desperately enables Redz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Desperately manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Redz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Desperately swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Desperately definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Redz is looking to pass into half guard but Desperately pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Desperately is in guard.

Redz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Desperately controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Redz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Desperately defends well.

Redz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Desperately can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Desperately is aware though and is defending well.
Redz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Desperately manages to get himself to full guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Redz working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Redz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Desperately's guard.
Redz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Desperately's guard.
Desperately won't allow Redz to pass to mount.

Redz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Desperately defends it well.
Redz moves nicely into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romano Redz dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Redz slips a jab and a cross from Desperately.

Desperately ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redz moves away.

Desperately digs a good body shot into Redz's ribs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Desperately. Redz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Redz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Redz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Desperately sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Desperately leaves Redz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Desperately's corner calls for a 1-2. Desperately obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Redz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Desperately moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Redz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Redz shoots for a double leg takedown but Desperately sprawls well. He's pushed Redz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Desperately ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Redz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
