Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcos Duarte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Luka Beck!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte moves out of range of the strikes.

Luka Beck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beck shoots for a takedown but Duarte saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Beck on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Duarte is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Valhalla Training Grounds that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Duarte postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Duarte lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Duarte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beck works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Duarte has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beck controls Duarte momentarily but Duarte frees himself.
Beck pulls Duarte in close to his closed guard and prevents Duarte from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Luka Beck was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Duarte shoots in looking for a takedown. Beck tries to sprawl out of it but Duarte keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beck manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Beck stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Beck wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcos Duarte. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duarte throws the kick towards the body but Beck avoids it.
Beck throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Duarte needs to keep his hands up - Beck had a free shot at his head there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beck throws a body punch but Duarte moves out of range.
Duarte keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Beck.
Duarte moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Duarte shoots in and drives through. Beck sprawls well.
Beck pushes Duarte away with a front kick.
Beck scores with a decent looking hook.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Beck throws a solid leg kick but Duarte takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Beck.
Beck throws a hook to the side of Duarte's head but Duarte sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luka Beck dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Duarte connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Duarte dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Beck. That did some damage!
Beck cracks Duarte with an open hand slap.
Duarte connects with a single shot there.
Beck fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Beck catches Duarte with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


Duarte is rocked!
Duarte sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
