Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lane Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ode Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ode Jokinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ode Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks missing with a left hand there. Jokinen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Brooks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A left lands for Jokinen.
A slow jab from Jokinen misses its intended target.
Nice defenses there by Brooks.
Jokinen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brooks doesn't seem bothered though.
Brooks gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jokinen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Brooks under the eye.

Brooks seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Lane Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brooks takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Brooks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jokinen controls the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jokinen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jokinen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch but Jokinen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Jokinen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jokinen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jokinen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Brooks regains guard immediately.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jokinen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lane Brooks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ode Jokinen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ode Jokinen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ode Jokinen seems to be getting the better of the standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Jokinen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
