PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mali Princ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent comes into the arena with John Williams- Superman March blaring out of the sound system. Mali Princ will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clark Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mali Princ!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Princ is looking to clinch.

Princ tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kent manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kent looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Princ looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Princ tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Princ leaves Kent with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kent shoots in for a takedown but Princ shows good takedown defense.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kent connects with a nice short shot to Princ's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kent looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Princ with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Princ can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Princ does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kent lands a nice short elbow.
Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Princ keeps working.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Well, if Kent is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kent seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Princ for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clark Kent dominated that round.
That's time! Kent's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Princ had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kent defends it easily.
Clark Kent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Princ has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kent can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Princ is breathing heavily.

Kent content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Kent postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Princ is still in real trouble! Can Kent finish him?

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kent lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kent postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Princ covers up, he's hurt! Kent keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kent and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kent can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clark Kent!
Our winner, Clark Kent, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
