PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kezz The Convict (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think The Convict might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Locked up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kezz The Convict!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Pain!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Convict throws a series of punches but Pain moves out of range.
Pain shoots in looking for a takedown. The Convict tries to sprawl out of it but Pain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Convict manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The Convict throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pain.
The Convict tries to bum rush Pain with a series of wild strikes but Pain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kezz The Convict has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Pain.

Pain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Convict sprawls well. The Convict wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pain gets slowly back to his feet.

Pain takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Pain decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Convict pushes Pain off looking to stand but Pain dives back in and keeps control.
Pain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The Convict is staying active underneath Pain, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Kezz The Convict will probably get the nod.

Pain dives in and grabs The Convict's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Convict pushes down on Pain's head and hops out.
The Convict throws a series of punches but Pain moves out of range.
Pain takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Pain misses with a takedown attempt - The Convict sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No joy there for The Convict, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kezz The Convict is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The Convict throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The Convict stuffs the takedown attempt from Pain. Pain gets slowly back to his feet.
Kezz The Convict has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Pain.
No joy there for The Convict, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pain dives in for a single leg takedown but The Convict sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Pain working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pain manages to get an easy takedown there - catching The Convict on his heels. He'll look to pass The Convict's guard now, I'm sure.
