Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Singer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Singer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewitt blocks a jab.
Singer is looking to slow Hewitt down with leg kicks.
Hewitt with a lazy takedown attempt
and Singer counters with a three punch combo that has Hewitt backing up. Hewitt nods at Singer to acknowledge the strikes.
Hewitt shoots in looking for a takedown but Singer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hewitt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tony Singer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Singer misses with a few strikes there.
Hewitt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Singer enables Hewitt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Singer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hewitt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Singer is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hewitt.

Hewitt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Singer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Singer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hewitt asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Singer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
